Soon, on a spring fed day, in the rainbow year of 2012, they began gathering and healers surfaced and nothing could stop it. It had begun. By the forest of many rivers the painted ponies are shod and tied together near the sapling of pine and maple trees. Howling voices climbed into the mist of a midnight moon. There by the firelight, a native elder speaks by sage. The embers sweat in bright yellow stars and golden threads of light shine upon his feathered crown. We are awakened and listening. The cloud of a sweet burning scent made by ancient herbs crosses over the eyes of the young.
